Recently, there have been a few posts on LinkedIn suggesting that the best way for people to get eyeballs on their content is to be bold, not boring.
But simply telling people to show up and not be boring on LinkedIn isn’t the whole story.
In fact, it’s leading some people to swerve head-on, at speed, into cringe content country.
The thing is, being ‘unboring’ (whatever that means) with zero strategy behind it might get some people noticed, but probably for all the wrong reasons!
What works for one person doesn’t necessarily work for another. Or, more importantly, doesn’t work for their intended audience.
Add some obviously AI-generated content into the mix, blend in a total lack of focus, sprinkle with inconsistency, and BOOM! The content creation bandwagon wheels can fly off pretty quickly.
So what should people be doing?
Well, there are no shoulds, but there are some key considerations to take into account if you want to attract clients on LinkedIn with your content.
For example, firstly, you need to know who you’re talking to and who you want to attract (or not). And then, ask yourself, in no specific order, the following:
And finally, how can you show them, through your content, how disarmingly approachable you are? (Psst, that’s the Call To Action aka CTA!)
Content creation doesn’t have to be boring, but it does need to be strategic.
